The Balloon Story
In 1934, a real high-altitude balloon landed in Ženavlje, a small village in Goričko, and out of the craft soon emerged the Belgian scientist Max Cosyns. The event, not part of the original plan and the result of bad weather conditions, attracted a lot of attention from the local and foreign public. Later, he would even be featured in literary works from the Prekmurje region. Yet the balloon story does not end that year...

You can relive this special event during your visit to Pomurje. Sit in the replica of Cosyns’ balloon, put on the virtual reality glasses, and take to the skies over the Pomurje region – over the plains of Pomurje to Goričko, over the vineyards in Ljutomer and Prlekija all the way to Lendava and back again.
