Museum Ljutomer
The museum, which is one of the elements comprising the Ljutomer General Library, oversees the protection, preservation, exploration, and popularization of the history of Ljutomer and the surrounding area.
The museum collection is in the City Hall on the Main Square (Glavni trg) in Ljutomer. Our visitors can discover the first Slovenian film, the Tabori Movement, and the history of Ljutomer and the surrounding area. While learning about Ljutomer’s rich history, and the varied economic, cultural, political, and social life within the city and the surrounding area, visitors can watch the first Slovenian film by Dr. Karol Grossmann, become acquainted with the history of the Tabori movement in Slovenia, and discover what else the people of Ljutomer were the first to accomplish.
