Cycling in Pomurje
Welcome to the lowlands, vineyard-covered hills, and to the Mura River, which sometimes flows through its name-giving countryside in silence and covertly, then sometimes again wild and unstoppable. Cycling along the Mura River will make life in harmony with nature seem like the most natural thing ever.
In the depths below Pomurje lies a see of thermal water which is caught and bundled on the surface into a diverse offer for tourists, giving you a great opportunity to leave the cycling route and visit one of the thermal spa centers to make use of this wonderful gift of nature.
Cycling up and about vineyard-covered hills, between vineyard cottages, and tourist farms you will definitely be impressed. At day's end you can attend a local event or visit one of the youth clubs.
Altogether there are 18 marked cycling routes with an overall length of 640 km in Pomurje - most of them are best for trekking or road bicycles, or even a modern e-bicycle.
