With carefully selected and visually compelling images Mankica Kranjec, a Slovene photographer, presents her perception of the picturesque flatlands of Prekmurje. The 30 selected photographs, supported by quotes from her grandpa’s books, will offer the visitor of the exhibition a broader insight into everyday life along the Mura river. It is here where her grandfather, an excellent writer, Miško Kranjec, spent his youth. The observer will catch a glimpse of the villages where her grandpa rode his bicycle, to get a loaf of fresh rye bread, and the endless fields as well as the freshwater habitats where he used to go hunting and fishing.
Mankica is a witness of time. With her camera, she has documented scenes that may once disappear and be lost for future generations. With this project, the photographer tries to conceive a subtle connection between her art and the enriching experience of independently tracing her grandfather’s unique footsteps.
Time and place: June 8th - November 25th, in the gallery of business club Expano (1st floor).
