EXHIBITION: DANI MAUK

Dani Mauko (1948) is a retired mechanical engineer from Radenci. Since 1976 he has been working more seriously in photography. He started to photograph major events such as the Three Hearts International Running Marathon, he also took part as a photojournalist in the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and many others.

He started to realise his more artistic ambitions in 1997, when he co-founded the Foto Klub Murska Sobota with a few other photography friends, where he is still a member, although in 2016 he also joined the Foto Klub Proportio divina from Gornja Radgona.

He has had more than 450 photographs accepted in more than 350 national and international juried photography exhibitions, in 24 different countries around the world, and has received more than 100 awards and prizes for them. Based on the results, the Photographic Federation of Slovenia (FZS) awarded him the FZS 1st Class Photographer Exhibition title in 2016, the World Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) the FIAP Artist title in 2019, and the FIAP Exellence title in 2021.

Despite his long involvement with photography , this is only his fifth solo exhibition and only the first in which he is presenting his original photography. The other four were documentaries.

In addition to all the above, Dani Mauko is active in the sports, cultural and tourist fields, in the Territorial Defence, the Slovenian War Veterans' Association, the Slovenian Officers' Association, etc., where he has been awarded more than fifty different honours and prizes for his contribution, including the Plaque of the Municipality of Radenci.

You are cordially invited to the opening of the photographic exhibition by Dani Mauk, A View of the Sky, on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 6 pm in the gallery of the Gornja Radgona Cultural Centre.

The exhibition will be on display in the gallery of the Gornja Radgona Culture Centre until April 2, 2023, during the opening hours of the Kultprotur Institute.
